Synopsis

The Gaze - An Experimental Quarantine Horror ‘Day Nine’ is an international collaborative short film project produced during the global pandemic lockdown in April 2020. The series involved filmmakers from Canada, Italy, Germany, the Czech Republic, the USA, and Hong Kong. Participants from all over the world had to develop their films based on the same story premise. Filmmakers were also strictly required to produce their films while adhering to the social-distancing measures of their own regions. Therefore, together with the actor, director, cinematographer, editor, and sound designer, “The Gaze” was produced by only four people in total. Story Premise of ‘Day Nine’: Nine days ago, alien ships began appearing in the skies above Earth. Governments across the globe instituted severe restrictions, keeping citizens indoors. The series examines humans in isolation, under a looming and uncertain threat that emotionally resonates with our actual situation. As part of the series, The Gaze experiments by using only subjective angles throughout the entire film. But whose point of view are we really seeing?
