Synopsis
Lai Yee returned in Ho Chung, Sai Kung's home, alerted the village by the time of baptism is not as good as ever, but after ten years away, the mother (Tan Amy decoration), has also grow old, no longer was. Lai Yee re-enter the simple natural life, waiting at the mother's side, seems to want to recover the past ten years time, but the quiet outskirts of rigid world, but because old classmate Lin (Lawrence Chou decorated) broke into and became noisy. Two respective corner of the village, traveled with emotional regret to embark on finding love journey. Short period of time is full of lies, secrets and indulgence. Finally everyone is to find the big blue lake, a large blue lake in the heart and mind, to re-learn to put your face to meet the future more flee war.
Director biography
Jessey Tsang Tsui-shan is a Hong Kong independent filmmaker, scriptwriter, and documentary filmmaker. After studying sound design at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and earning a Master’s in Media Design from City University of Hong Kong in 2005, she debuted with Lovers on the Road (2008), which won the Best Feature Award at the 2009 South Taiwan Film and Video Festival. Her second feature, Big Blue Lake (2011), set in her native Ho Chung village, earned her the Best New Director at the 2012 Hong Kong Film Awards, the Jury Prix at the Shanghai International Film Festival, and the New Artist Award from the Hong Kong Art Development Council. Her documentary Flowing Stories (2014) explored Ho Chung’s diaspora, while her 2022 VR project Chroma 11 was the first Hong Kong VR film selected for the Venice International Film Festival’s Immersive Programme. Her latest documentary, Winter Chants (2024), continues her focus on Ho Chung’s cultural traditions.
